Policy

Editorial Standards

Escaping Magazine follows these standards across every story we publish.

Accuracy

We aim for accuracy in every article. Errors are corrected promptly and transparently in accordance with our Corrections Policy.

Independence

Our editorial coverage is independent. Advertisers, partners and sponsors do not influence which stories we cover or how we cover them.

Source verification

Where possible, we verify claims with at least two independent sources. On-the-record sourcing is preferred; anonymous sources are used only when necessary and justified.

Conflicts of interest

Writers and editors disclose any potential conflicts of interest relating to the subjects they cover.

Gifts and hospitality

We may accept press trips and product loans where they are essential to reporting. Such arrangements are disclosed within the story and do not influence our coverage.

Sponsored content

Sponsored content is produced separately from editorial and is clearly labelled. See our Sponsored Content Policy.

Corrections

Substantive corrections are noted at the foot of the article. Minor typographical corrections are made silently.

Artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence tools may assist with research, transcription, formatting or image production, but final editorial responsibility remains with human editors. AI-generated or materially altered images are disclosed when appropriate.

Image usage

We credit photographers and image sources wherever possible. Images that have been materially altered are disclosed.

Fact-checking

Features are fact-checked before publication. Longer investigations undergo additional review.

Attribution

We credit original reporting by other publications and link to source material where appropriate.
